Sri Sidhu of OBC on this score.... I take immense pleasure to place before you the commendable efforts on the part of yet another comrade of ours...viz: Sri C N Venugopalan of Union Bank of India. He has been on his crusade on the legal front for quite some time which culminated into direct dialogue with the MOF Secretariat as a result of a specific direction from the Hon'ble High Court of Judicature, Kerala. He has been, on his "toes" in his followup efforts constantly since then. IN FACT, IT IS HIS RELENTLESS LEGAL RECOURSE INITIATED AND PURSUED BY SRI VENUGOPALAN , THAT HAS FRIGHTENED THE MANAGEMENT OF UNION BANK OF INDIA TO COME OUT HURRIEDLY WITH A GAZETTE NOTIFICATION FOR THE STAMP OF APPROVAL FROM THE PARLIAMENT - ONLY TO AMEND THOSE PENSION REGULATIONS ALREADY IMPLEMENTED MUCH DETRIMENTAL TO THE INTERESTS OF PRE-2002 RETIREES. THIS IS ONLY TO SEEK RATIFICATION OF THEIR PAST ILLEGAL DEEDS OF CLANDESTINE UNDERSTANDINGS AT THE BEHEST OF IBA/UFBU. GLARINGLY IT IS ONLY THE MANAGEMENT OF UNION BANK OF INDIA WHO TOOK LEAD TO BURY THE LEGITIMATE DEMANDS/ASPIRATIONS OF THE PRE-2002 RETIRES. (PERHAPS, OTHERS MAY FOLLOW SUIT) THIS "COVERT OPERATION" ON THE PART OF THE MANAGEMENT OF UNION BANK OF INDIA ASSUMES LOT OF IMPORTANCE WHEN THE HON'BLE SUPREME COURT HAS ALREADY RECALLED ITS OWN PREVIOUS JUDGMENTS AND HEARD THE CASE AFRESH AND HAS RESERVED ITS FINAL JUDGMENT CONCERNING THE 100% DA TO THE ILL- FATED PRE-2002 RETIREES. - A GLARING AND ILLEGAL DISCRIMINATION CHALLENGED BY AIBRF WHO TOOK THE LEAD ON THE ORGANISATIONAL FRONT AT THE APEX LEVEL OF THE JUDICIARY. In further continuation of his efforts , Our friend, Sri C N Venugopalan is contemplating to file a case in the Hon'ble High Court of Judicature, Kerala to set at knot the covert moves of our common enemies -viz: IBA/UFBU combine once for all. This is besides brightening the prospects of the fraternity of bank retirees concerning several other issues - like updation of pension / family pension etc. I have given only a brief account of the details but are quite exhaustive, and hence I append the same in chronological order in the attached file/s only to enable you to make an in-depth study and understand the gravity of the situation and to act swiftly. Finally, Ii's my humble feeling that when somebody, is taking lead to fight out for our common cause unmindful of their personal commitments on domestic front, it's our minimum courtesy to extend our support to the maximum extent possible.
