The four (4) rivers of Mumbai – Dahisar, Poisor, Oshiwara and Mithi, are currently admitted in ICU and are on the verge of dying. They need your immediate attention and positive action. You need to stop discharge of pollutants, sewage and debris in these rivers. Encroachment is another big issue. The situation is alarming - Aquatic ecosystem is worsening!!
It is a shame that today’s youth refer these river beds as 'nullah' or sewer lines. Sir, rivers are stinking badly. Will you wait till this stink reaches your bungalow?
Do these rivers adorn the beauty of suburban Mumbai as stated on one of the government's website http://mumbaisuburban.gov.in/html/profile.htm ??
Directive principles of our Constitution mandates State to improve public health, protect and improve the environment. But the reality is that State’s negligence and ignorance, coupled with corruption is degrading public health and environment.
Did we learn anything from 26 July floods except wasting crores on short term or cosmetic desilting measures? Illegal industries and slums are being set up along the rivers. Note that hiding ugly state of our rivers by embankment or shades is not the solution. It only disconnects people from mother nature.
Solution lies in removing the encroachment, stopping disposal of untreated sewage in the rivers, penalizing the polluters and educating the masses. We will educate people and you can support on other solutions. And therefore this petition to you. Let's collaborate for common good!

Please look into and resolve the root-causes. Let us learn something from expert committee reports prepared/submitted on this subject.
Will your government ignore the voice of the people of Mumbai who thronged the streets to show their love and concern towards these rivers, by joining the River March on March 6, 2016 ?
We want you to rejuvenate our rivers and make them free from debris, plastic, sewage, other pollutants and free them from encroachment. And we want you to act fast before our rivers die.
We want you to do it because we believe only you can do it !
