Stop Special Use Permit on Callie Still Road

The Issue

ATTENTION ALL CALLIE STILL ROAD, TRIBBLE MILL ROAD & OZORA ROAD RESIDENTS!!! We wanted to inform all the local residents about this special use permit notice that appeared last week. It is currently slated for "Family Personal Care Home." I am attaching the link to the paperwork filed discussing the intended use, etc. Please take a few minutes to look through the documents and see what the "intended" use for the property is.

Please take the time to understand what this zoning is and what the impact could be to our Callie Still Rd and surrounding community. This can absolutely have an adverse affect on the property values of our community and not to mention the traffic of potential EMS vehicles going in and out of the property at all times of the day and night. This is not something that belongs on our street. Every single person on Callie Still Rd is a homeowner and there is nothing like this on our street. I believe we can all agree that in Grayson alone we have multiple elderly care facilities servicing our elderly community and surely don't need one on an entirely residential street. I'm sure many of you share the same sentiment that our road has remained true to it's character as a road with single family homes (many with property) for a long time and don't want to see that change.

Here are some of the highlights of what the applicant of the permit (Carla Bedford-Dixon, a Dr. with a practice located in Atlanta) intends to do with the property.
• Build 2 (TWO), 4500+ square foot facilities with 6-8 bedrooms to house up to 8 residents per facility.
•"Each residential facility will have parking for as many as 8 or more parked cars and will be close enough to the right of way for emergency vehicles to access," meaning the buildings are very close to the road.
• The buildings are called "Personal Care Home Facilities" that will have approximately 3 full time staff members for each facility.
