In times of great uncertainty during the Global Pandemic of COVID-19, VRBO must do more to provide travelers refunds for disrupted travel. Despite the orders of many local governments, the recommendations of the CDC, and the cancellation of major events, VRBO fails to provide travelers with adequate flexibility, allowing homeowners and the booking company to profit immensely while providing no value to guests.

VRBO should come in line with the policies of major airlines, hotels, and competitors (Airbnb) to guarantee refunds for travelers effected by the Coronavirus. On March 11, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak of coronavirus, known as COVID-19, to be a global pandemic. Any trips booked before March 11th through VRBO should have the option of a full refund.

Personally, 10 months ago I booked a trip for the Kentucky Derby for over TWELVE THOUSAND dollars. And now I am being offered no refund by the host, and no path to a resolution by VRBO.
