The horrific 'acid attacks' which seem to have become a trend with some violent criminals should be treated by the Courts with the same penalties for murder (Section 18 GBH offences may already attract a life sentence, but this is extremely rare). In the worst cases whole life sentences should be available to the Courts where life changing harm has been caused to victims by the use of corrosive acids. That would send a clear message that in a civilised society such abhorrent crimes will not be tolerated and the full weight of the Criminal Justice system will be applied.
