“There's really no such thing as the 'voiceless'. There are only the deliberately silenced, or the preferably unheard.” –Arundhati Roy On Thursday morning we handed our petition to 10 Downing Street,61k signatures after sleeping outside Downing Street in solidarity with young refugees and in protest of the UK government's treatment of them. We would like to thank everyone for their support with the petition, and encourage every one to keep pressuring their government, their MP to advocate for the rights of these young people. As one of the speakers said the evening before we handed in our petition, 'compassion is not weakness', and thought the government may not display much compassion in this matter, we must continue to advocate, to campaign and raise awareness. There is a vote on Dubs in parliament on Wednesday, so time is crucial! Pressure your MP to attend the debate, and ask them to stand up with compassion! Thank you for your support, let's keep it going! Photo Credit: Freya Mergler
