My mother who lives alone is currently battling cancer. During this difficult time we put a visa extension application together for my wife.  We unfortunately overlooked a new requirement of including an A2 English Test. 

My wife speaks excellent English and has offered to take the test. But to take the take at a registered test centre, you need to present your passport as ID. The Home Office have retained her passport.  We have asked if she can have her passport returned so that she can take the test and reapply for her visa from the UK but we are not getting a response. 

Without this, Monica would need to return back to Mexico for many months at this critical time for my mother.  Please help. If the Home Office provide the passport or a certified copy and call Trinity College to explain the situation, should could take the test and our problem would be solved. She would then resubmit her application and we could remain together as a family at this difficult time.
