Dear Friends & Supporters,
Earlier the Home Office rejected Ahmed’s applications that his legal team had put forth for asylum and for leave to remain in the UK.
This puts him at risk of being deported to Iraq, where he would face grave threats to his safety.
Leaving the UK would also mean being uprooted from his friends and family here, and being unable to complete his PhD degree at The University of Sheffield.
His legal team has appealed to the Home Office’s decision and received a court hearing set for
