Christmas day appeal: one week in detention

This Christmas day marks a week that our friend and colleague Ahmed is in detention. 160+ academic have already signed the following open letter, demanding that the University of Sheffield reinstate Ahmed's uni email account and provide him with the documents needed by his solicitors for his asylum case. Half these signatures came from academic staff and students of the University of Sheffield with the rest of the signatures representing world-wide support from academic staff, including Austria, Australia, The Netherlands, Sweden, South Africa, Indonesia, Lebanon, Greece, Cyprus, Canada and the United States.
