The Issue
I want to share a story of love, sacrifice, and the deep connection between humans and their four-legged companions. My life revolves around five incredible corgis who aren't just pets; they are family. But our journey has taken an unexpected and heart-wrenching turn.
Growing up wasn't easy for me. My parents parted ways when I was just a year old, and my early years were filled with uncertainty and financial hardships. There were moments during my university days when I felt like the weight of the world was on my shoulders, and dark thoughts crept into my mind.
Then, my first corgi entered my life – a furry, four-legged angel of hope. She became my reason to keep moving forward. When I became an English teacher, my goal was to give back, just as my corgi had given to me. I started reaching out to other dogs in need, providing them with love and a safe home. One by one, my corgi family grew, each one bringing happiness and warmth into our lives.
Our current living situation is a daily struggle. Our 65m2 apartment is too small for my lively corgis, and we're forced to chain them to prevent chaos. The neighbors, with their understandable concerns, have escalated the situation, threatening to disconnect our water supply unless we relocate our beloved dogs.
My mother, who moved from the countryside to help care for the dogs while I'm at work, shares my love and commitment to these dogs. We've lived in rented apartments and houses, but it's financially draining. After an inheritance from her parents, we managed to buy the 65m2 apartment where we currently live with my mother, my boyfriend, and our five beloved corgis.
My boyfriend, despite his best efforts, faces financial constraints in Vietnam. He's as devoted to our dogs as I am, providing them with care, play, and sustenance. But being an English teacher in Vietnam doesn't offer a substantial income. It's one of the lowest-paying jobs in the country.
My mother and I are now willing to sell our apartment, and together, we've pooled $150,000 toward the purchase of a new home. However, we still need an additional $200,000 to secure a place where our dogs can truly thrive. They deserve this, and I'm resolute in providing it for them. With your support, we can also continue to rescue more dogs, giving them the second chance they so rightfully deserve.
The truth is, our income is simply not enough to provide the life our dogs deserve. We are urgently seeking your help to find a permanent home for my five corgis, and potentially more dogs in the future.
In Vietnam, a country of stunning landscapes and impeccable hospitality, there's a tragic reality where some still consume dog and cat meat. Your support can change not only our lives but also the lives of countless other dogs and cats in need. It will give them love, hope, and the promise of a brighter tomorrow.
If our story has touched your heart, if you can feel the love and sacrifice that bind us, please join us in turning this dream into a reality.
Thank you so much!
