Hello Everyone reading this. I come from Holton High School and I am a upcoming Junior. I used to play soccer when I was a little kid but now at Holton I don’t even have the choice to play it. After asking around with many students I found that there is a lot of positive interest to creating a soccer team! Soccer could benefit our small town in so many ways! Studies show that kids who are physically active do better in school and show better brain function along with grades. Who wouldn’t want their son or daughter to do something they enjoy and at the same time do better in something that’s so important like school. Soccer really builds on teamwork and it would help so much with students abilities to do this in the future! Holton is heavily dominated by football but a lot of kids don’t like football. Opening up students views on sports could give them so much learning potential. Soccer would bring our district closer with other schools all while giving us students new opportunities to see the world and meet new people. The high school experience is a once in a lifetime event where you can live your life and see who you truly want to be. Adding a soccer team would give us the chance to explore the high school experience and really give us something that we won’t regret. There is so many good things that come from physical activity like increasing health, building strength, building intelligence, increasing flexibility, and with all the mental illness kids go through these days it can help them feel better. Even if I can’t play myself opening up future students to this would still mean the world to me. I need support to start this so thank you for considering and helping me achieve my goal! Anything will help and if you feel obligated the goal will be easier to achieve with funding so we are more likely to get this passed.
