For more than 50 years the Hollywood sign has stood proudly as a beacon of light in the community, first as a drive-in and then as part of the shopping precinct.

The decision to remove the Hollywood sign at Hollywood Plaza is disappointing however if it was due to “safety concerns” it is understandable. However, it would be extremely disappointing if then development or housing replaces the site.

We petitioners value and appreciate the significance it has within the community and ask that the iconic sign be replaced.
