Thank you to the President of the Hollywood Hills Civic Association for opposing the 1301 skyscraper. Here's the letter of opposition:

Mayor Levy and City Commissioners:

My name is Richard L. Prindiville, Acting President of the Hollywood Hills Civic Association (aka HHCA).

The subject of this email is the proposed Beach P3 Project, between the City of Hollywood and the Related Group (1301 P3 Project).

Initially, I would like to state that we have delayed in stating our position, to allow the best understanding of the subject and especially, the financial repercussions to the City of Hollywood.  Collectively, we have a realization that the City of Hollywood, is attempting to address its seemingly hopeless financial needs.  However, the Citizens of Hollywood are strongly opposed to the 1301 P3 Project and the general feelings are that alternate means of financing need to be investigated.  This P3 project is NOT good for Hollywood and should be rejected.

 - The attached 1301 Ground Lease and 1301 Comprehensive Agreement shows that if the Related Group can't sell these units as condos, then the Related Group / or its affiliates can instead make this a rental project. This is contrary to the original intent.

 - The property deed(s) and related restrictions must not be disregarded, as these are the reasons why the City acquired the primary property in 1974 and the secondary property in 1981.

 - There is strong evidence that the State P3 statue is being mis-applied here and as such, will likely lead to a court challenge, resulting in related onerous financial expense.

 - Most importantly, the people, the Citizens of Hollywood have spoken. There is far more opposition than support to the proposed 1301 P3 Project.  Respect the voices of the residents of the City of Hollywood.

Richard L Prindiville

Acting President of the

Hollywood Hills Civic Association (HHCA)
