As Washington School is redeveloped, our neighborhood could lose all of the public access green space. For many decades the school property has been available for neighborhood gatherings and children's play. It has been a huge asset to the neighborhood. We're asking City Council to partner with Washington School neighborhood to make the former 11th Street right-of-way in front of the school into a park that will continue to provide public access, neighborhood gathering space, a children’s play area, and a place of beauty and quiet respite. The neighborhood is committed to raising $70,000 to make this a reality.
