Holding DeviantArt Accountable For Stolen NFT Artworks

Holding DeviantArt Accountable For Stolen NFT Artworks
The Issue
WHO
This circulation of purchased stolen artworks have become extremely discouraging for artists online both big and small because it makes them feel as if their hard work is but a mere asset that can be screen captured and sold without their consent. Furthermore, the poorly made images are also insulting as it shows the lack of value for aesthetic and the arts.
WHAT
NFTs are becoming more popular each day. With the growing number of users and profits, fraudsters are inclined to generate more character assets for NFT products in the form or artworks. These assets are often stolen art or very poorly rendered digital images. At the end of the day users of this community purchase a receipt and link for an image amounting to 100,000 dollars or more, of which is up for limited trading.
WHY
In participating in this crypto currency scam, many artists are at risk for stolen artwork and lack of profit. With this in mind, we believe supporting artists directly with commissions and business support is more respectable for the rightful owner of the work. Furthermore, NFT sites like OpenSeas and DeviantArt, need to be held accountable for copyright to the original artist. They need to favor and protect artists’ rightful claim of ownership to their work.
