HOLD UC Davis RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ONGOING SUFFERING AND DYING OF PRIMATES!

The continuing negligence at the California National Primate Center at UC Davis—resulting in the deaths of numerous infant monkeys due to traumatic abuse from adults and maternal neglect, as well as fatalities caused by minimal nutrition and lack of fluids—must end now

Letter to
Director, Western Region USDA/APHIS/A Dr. Robert Gibbens
I have learned through information provided by Michael A. Budkie, the Executive Director of SAEN, who has filed with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, that the California National Primate Center at the University of California, Davis continues to be responsible for the ongoing suffering and deaths of animals, including primate infants.

Example: "center necropsy reports listing the causes of death for eight young female macaques and four young males as improper nutrition of lack of suckling."

Considering that more than one hundred and twenty animals died at the center with varying degrees of dehydration and exhaustion from lack of nourishment, I respectfully insist a full investigation and the most severe action allowable under the Animal Welfare Act be immediately taken against the California National Primate Center at UC Davis.
