Hold Surf City Council Accountable for Mismanagement

Hold Surf City Council Accountable for Mismanagement
The Issue
PLEASE ONLY SIGN AS A RESIDENT OF SURF CITY, NC!
NON LOCALS: I know you want to help so the best thing you can do is like and share this with as many surf city residents as possible!
Residents of Surf City, NC, are increasingly burdened by financial pressures due to unprecedented 30% tax hikes. These increases have placed a significant strain on households already grappling with rising living costs. Despite the council's promises of better services, residents have yet to see substantial improvements or a justification for such a steep rise in taxes.
Alarmingly, allegations of corruption involving council member Jeremy Shugarts further erode trust in our local leadership. Questions about transparency and integrity loom large, yet the town council has failed to address these concerns adequately or provide accountability.
Our town's development projects lack the necessary oversight, leading to misallocations of resources and unchecked expansions that do not serve the community’s best interests. The absence of strategic planning is evident and risks deteriorating the quality of life we hold dear in Surf City.
Moreover, Surf City's financial health appears mismanaged, with funds seeming to vanish into inefficiency and poor decision-making, leaving residents to shoulder the burden without representation.
We, the voters of Surf City, demand change. A call for responsible leadership committed to transparency, fiscal responsibility, and ethical governance has never been more urgent. Our community deserves a council that listens and acts in our collective favor, rather than personal or divisive interests.
To send a resounding message, this petition signifies our collective intention not to vote for the current town council members in the upcoming elections unless they address these pivotal issues with concrete actions.
Surf City residents are advocating for accountability and calling on our leaders to restore faith in our local government. Sign this petition to join the push for a better future for our town.
