Hold South East Water accountable for water shortages

The Issue

UPDATE: We are now day 4 without water, with no indication of when it will return. Mike Martin MP has met with OFWAT and the Minister of Water who are on our side. We must keep pushing for a resolution.

For over 48 hours, I've been struggling with the lack of water in my home. As someone with health issues, this has been far more than an inconvenience – it's exacerbated my condition and painted a vivid picture of the plight faced by over 110,000 people like me, who are suffering due to the significant oversight by South East Water. The most heartbreaking fact is that some are even worse off than I am as they deal with this crisis.

Our water supply is not just essential for drinking and cooking, but it is critical for basic hygiene and medicine administration, especially for those with health conditions. Yet, South East Water has failed to address this situation in a timely manner, leaving thousands to fend for themselves without the bare necessities of modern life.

It is crucial that we hold South East Water accountable for the unbearable circumstances they have caused. Immediate action must be taken to ensure the restoration of water supply to all affected areas, and to prevent such a disaster from happening again.

Additionally, South East Water must provide clear communication with the impacted communities, explaining both the cause of this disruption and the steps they are taking to resolve it. Transparency is crucial during emergencies to alleviate fears and prevent misinformation from spreading.

We demand compensation for those who have been significantly affected, something that is not only fair but necessary for the burdens they have endured.

Join me in calling upon the regulatory bodies to investigate these failures by South East Water and implement measures that ensure such negligence does not reoccur. Together, we can make sure that our voices are heard and that those responsible are held to account.

Sign this petition to demand accountability, transparency, and swift action from South East Water.
