Our local principal, a cornerstone of our community, was recently suspended without the transparency and communication we deserve as involved and caring residents of the South Dearborn area. This decision was not only unexpected but has left us questioning the leadership and decision-making processes within the South Dearborn Community School Corporation.

The leadership of Superintendent Dr. Ronald Ross and the School Board has come under scrutiny as we, the undersigned parents, guardians, staff members, students, alumni, and concerned members of the South Dearborn community, ask for accountability and a thorough review of their decision-making practices.

The recent events highlight a greater issue within our school district: a lack of transparent communication and participatory decision-making. As a community, we have a right to understand the processes and criteria that lead to such impactful decisions—decisions that influence the lives of our students and educators.

Data consistently show that districts with transparent and engaged leadership experience higher levels of student achievement and community satisfaction. According to research from the National School Boards Association, school districts that foster open communication with stakeholders and involve the community in decision-making processes see improved educational outcomes.

Our goal is for the South Dearborn Community School Corporation to commit to a higher standard of accountability and transparency. We ask for the following actions:
