Hold Social Media Platforms Accountable for Harassment

The Issue

Stop Adult Bullies: Demand Stronger Protections Against Online Harassment

My background and personal experience with racism online and other means.

My family is part of the Poarch Creek Tribe in Milton, Florida — a federally recognized Native American tribe. Because of this, online remarks comparing us to “Temu tent towns” are not just insults, they are a form of hate speech. For years, I have been the target of relentless online harassment that has crossed the line into cultural defamation, mockery, and intimidation.

For over four years, I have endured relentless online harassment from a multiple individuals, who has used TikTok and other social media platforms to bully, defame, make vile racist remarks and attack my minor children and Marine veteran husband. Despite countless reports, they simply create new backup accounts each time one is flagged, ensuring the harassment never ends. The result has been devastating: my reputation, peace of mind, and personal life have been repeatedly dragged into chaos — even through frivolous lawsuits meant to intimidate me.

This is just a less vile example of what I've endured.

My story is not unique. This is happening to countless others every day. Social media companies allow harassment/racism to flourish because their policies are outdated, their enforcement inconsistent, and their “solutions” easily bypassed. Four years of sustained bullying, vile, racist commentary should never be possible — yet here I am, still fighting. For myself, my family, my tribe, and others.

Enough is enough.

When we are demanding:

We need stronger platform guidelines and legal protections to prevent repeat harassment, coordinated bullying, and defamation campaigns.

Changes we what:

Enforcing permanent bans on serial harassers by blocking all accounts they may make in the future by flagging their devices.

Clear, swift processes for victims to report abuse and receive real local law enforcement support.

Laws that hold individuals accountable for online harassment and weaponized lawsuits, so victims aren’t left to fight alone, ensuring that no one has to go through what my family had to endure.

Social media is not just entertainment anymore — it is a public stage where reputations, careers, and mental health are at stake. Without real accountability, platforms are complicit in the abuse enables the abuse to continue, until lives are lost.

We are the change!
