Greetings,
To all people who have read my story and signed my petition (50 or so in a week), I send my deepest gratitude.
You are the "silver lining" that accompanied this unfortunate legal gauntlet. I can honestly thank the Lord for all that has occurred in the last 2 years of my life, sweet or bitter. If not for these difficulties, I honestly would have never thought so many people would care enough to help a stranger. I can't help but have a healthy appreciation of the general goodness of what seems to be a majority of people.
I would even say that this awful experience has actually made me more sensitive and involved with the troubles faced by my fellow citizens. I have always thought myself to be a moral and involved person. Now I see how relatively lacking I was in terms of social activism and community involvement. I have vowed to my Creator and myself that my world-view must grow in scope to include the masses of fellow Americans faced with Injustice or need. Action speaks louder, so even after my own campaign to obtain justice from the NYPD is finished. I will expect you, the great people of conscience and good will, to hold me to my word. More to come.
Truly Yours,
Nabil Abdulghani, MD
