🐾 Justice for Enzo – Stop the Cruelty and Demand His Release from LAPS 🐾
Sign this petition to demand accountability, compassion, and justice for Enzo — a beloved family dog wrongfully seized and traumatized by the Langley Animal Protection Society (LAPS).
Enzo is not just a dog. He is a gentle, loyal, and deeply loved family member. But on April 10 2024, his life — and ours — changed forever.
Enzo was seized by LAPS under a warrant that we believe was invalid and executed without compassion or proper procedure. We strongly believe the search was conducted in an unreasonable manner. During the seizure, officers caused him extreme physical and emotional trauma. His jaw bone and teeth were broken, and he was so terrified that he urinated and defecated on himself. No animal should ever experience this — especially at the hands of those entrusted to protect them.
Since being taken, Enzo has been isolated, and locked up in a 6x6 concrete kennel for 23 out of 24 hours a day. He only receives 1 hour of outside time Mon-Fri when we the owners visit, no weekend visits. On weekends he doesn’t leave his kennel for up to 72 hours ! He’s left in unsanitary conditions, and dirty kennels. We’ve tried everything — legal action, communication, and even media coverage — but LAPS continues to stonewall, mislead, and ignore the pleas of a devastated family.
We’ve spent over $100,000 fighting to bring Enzo home, sacrificing our time, resources, and emotional well-being to advocate for a dog who cannot speak for himself.
This is not just about our dog. It’s about a broken system that allows shelters and enforcement agencies to act without oversight, transparency, or accountability.
By signing this petition, you are demanding:
- The immediate and safe release of Enzo back to his family.
- An independent investigation into LAPS’ handling of this case, including the physical trauma Enzo endured.
- Reform of seizure and shelter protocols to prevent further harm to animals and families.
- Transparency and accountability from LAPS regarding Enzo’s condition, care, and the decisions made during his detention.
- We demand that The Township of Langley immediately pull the application to have Enzo euthanized.
LAPS and the Township of Langley have filed an application to euthanize Enzo. He does not deserve to be killed! This application is not only heartbreaking — it’s deeply unjust. Enzo does not deserve to be sentenced to death because of LAPS’ own negligence, failure to follow proper procedures, and lack of work ethic during their investigation. Their handling of the situation was careless and unethical from the start. Had they done their job correctly — with professionalism, thoroughness, and compassion — we believe the outcome would have been very different. Enzo deserves a chance to live!
We are Enzo’s voice. He cannot speak — but we can. And we must.
Please sign and share this petition widely. Help us bring Enzo home where he belongs. Help us ensure that no other family or innocent animal endures this cruelty again.
