We're calling on Ford Motor Company to issue an immediate recall for F-150 trucks equipped with the 10R80 transmission, which are experiencing dangerous and premature failures due to a defective CDF drum.

Thousands of owners have been left with unsafe vehicles and massive repair bills. Ford must take responsibility.

Why this petition matters

Ford F-150 owners are facing sudden and dangerous transmission failures due to a known defect inside the 10-speed automatic transmission (10R80). The root cause is a flawed internal component called the CDF drum.

These drums crack or fail prematurely, leading to:

• Sudden loss of power
• Harsh, erratic shifting
• Complete transmission breakdown
• Unsafe driving conditions

This failure often happens without warning and well before the vehicle reaches high mileage.

Ford dealerships acknowledge the issue, and even issued a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB 24-2101) in March 2024 detailing how to inspect and repair the CDF drum and other related components. Ford has not issued a recall, leaving affected drivers to cover thousands of dollars in repair costs for a defect they did not cause.

If you own a 2018 F-150 (or similar model years), you may already be at risk, whether you've seen symptoms yet or not.

This is not a wear-and-tear issue. It’s a manufacturing defect. Ford has a responsibility to recall the affected vehicles and reimburse owners for all related repairs.

We are demanding:

• A full recall of F-150s  containing defective CDF drums
• Free repairs or reimbursements for owners who have already paid out-of-pocket
• Transparency from Ford regarding the scope and cause of these failures
