The Issue

My son and I have endured a harrowing battle with the family courts, one that echoes the experiences of countless other families who have been let down by the very system designed to protect them. After the heartbreaking loss of my son's father, Tyler Baker, our lives were turned upside down by a court system that failed us completely. Despite my son's safety, without any investigation or evidence, he was unjustly taken from his home. They failed to involve the police, conduct an investigation, or even question my son, revealing a severe lack of professionalism and care.

A small incident where my son cut his foot on a beer bottle was handled with such incompetence that I was the one ultimately allowed to console him. It highlighted the court's failure to protect and respect the very people they are meant to serve — those who, like us, have done nothing to deserve such neglect and mistreatment.

The Family Court and Children's Division are tasked with a solemn duty: to protect and nurture the families within their jurisdictions. Yet, in too many cases, we see these bodies failing to uphold their own promises, allowing for lies, abuse, and the destruction of innocent lives. Amber and Malachi are just two among many who suffer because of these systemic failures.

We call upon the final decision-makers in the Children’s Division and Probate Court to take responsibility for their actions and decisions. It is time to stop turning a blind eye to the systemic mistreatment within family courts. We demand transparency and accountability from those who hold power over the lives of families and children.

Our goal is to ensure that family courts stand as pillars of justice and support, not sources of distress and injustice. We urge those in power to uphold their duty, to protect the vulnerable, and to act with integrity and empathy. With this petition, we strive to shine a light on the injustices faced by families and to demand meaningful change.

Please join us in our fight to hold family courts accountable. Demand that they protect, rather than dismantle, the lives of those who deserve justice and respect. Sign this petition to urge change and ensure a better future for Amber, Malachi, and countless others.
