News just in:
"Phone numbers linked to the accounts of more than 419m Facebook users have been exposed in the tech giant’s latest data breach.
Databases relating to 133m US Facebook accounts, 50m accounts in Vietnam and 18m UK accounts were found on a server that was not secured by a password.
Having access to a person’s phone number could allow hackers to force-reset the password of any online account linked to the number."
Some things never change.
WHAT CAN WE DO? WHAT CAN YOU DO?
Here's what I'm doing:
1. Working with United Citizens to elect its inaugural Global Co-Representatives in its first ever elections. Getting involved, strengthening democracy, and voting for representatives who will lead efforts to hold tech leaders like Zuckerberg to account. If we are organised, we can build our power to bring Mark to UK Parliament. Will you join us? Become a member of United Citizens today and vote for our community's leaders: https://www.weareunitedcitizens.org/global-elections-2019/.
2. Organising a gathering of citizens to build a network of people ready to tackle the big issues of the digital age. On Tuesday 19th November 2019, we will host Politics Summit 2019: Globalism vs Nationalism in the Digital Age. Join us to discuss how technology and unaccountable leaders are shaping our world, and what we can do in response. Sign up here to join us: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/politics-summit-2019-globalism-vs-nationalism-in-the-digital-age-tickets-60467443752.
Holding tech leaders democratically accountable is a long-term mission. Join me at United Citizens, and join us at Politics Summit 2019 - together we can take things forward, step by step.
