Neuigkeit zur PetitionHold Facebook to account #TalkToUsMarkNews: 30 million more people affected by Facebook data scandal

Hi everyone,
News broke recently that 30 million more Facebook users' data was misused in the Cambridge Analytica case. This is in addition to the 50 million originally thought to be affected, meaning over 80 million people's data has been affected. It's clear that this is an ever bigger issue than originally thought.
That's why, to build on our petition, I've decided to raise money to fund the world's first union of citizens that holds technology companies to account.
You can help by becoming a founding patron: https://www.patreon.com/UnitedCitizens.
I started this petition with the hope that Mark would show real leadership and engage with citizens openly given Facebook's role in our daily lives and its community values. In the last couple of weeks 175,192 of you signed the #TalkToUsMark petition and, as a result, Mark Zuckerberg has agreed to testify before US Congress, and to investigate and list publicly any other violations of our data by other third parties. We won!
But there is still a lot of work to do: Mark is yet to personally respond to our petition and has refused to appear in front of UK Parliament.
Going forward, the question is: Can we build on this momentum and create a movement? Can we work together and become a powerful force?
It has become clear to me that there is a gap that needs be filled: An organisation that represents our interests and holds powerful technology companies accountable.
If we are able to raise the necessary funds, this union of citizens would aim to:
1. Understand what citizens around the world believe are the major issues we need to collectively respond to in the digital age;
2. Develop citizens' knowledge and skills to empower them to take impactful action for real world change;
3. Work with governments, businesses, and civil society to bring about the change we want to see in the world, and;
4. Build a world where technology leads to progress for us all, leaving nobody behind.
In the spirit of openness, it will be impossible to do this without funding. But if you chip in, anything is possible.
Will you donate to this cause and be a founding patron of the world's first union of citizens that holds technology companies to account? I hope so. If you do, we might be able to prove that petitions can lead to organised movements which can lead to long-term change.
If not, I still want to send a huge thank you for signing this petition. You all made a difference.
Kind regards,
Alvin Carpio
