Since June 17, the residents of Boyle Heights, as well as surrounding neighborhoods, have been living in distress due to a persistent fire that continues to spew smoke and pollutants into the air. This ongoing fire has turned daily life into a struggle for countless individuals, affecting their health, well-being, and quality of life. Despite the evident consequences of this disaster, the response from our elected officials—Hilda Solis, Karen Bass, and Tim McOsker—has been inadequate, leaving many to feel forgotten and neglected.

The impact of the fire is visible and severe. People are experiencing respiratory distress, with common reports of choking, eye irritation, headaches, and dizziness. The situation is dire and requires immediate attention and action from those in power. Residents are pleading for decisive measures to control the fire, mitigate health impacts, and provide support and relief to those affected.
