Hello fellow dog lovers! I wanted to first give you a Pup-date on Penny. She got her stitches out early this week and the doctors were very pleased at how quickly she healed! We are still giving her another antibiotic because of one little bacteria type that was resistant to the first course of antibiotics. But she is back to herself! She is giving a lot of head tilts and tail wags and is ready to eat ALLLL the treats! She is such a fighter and our little miracle pup!

I wanted to reach out to also ask for your help. The first thing we need your help with is Penny's Law, the bill introduced to help dog owners to have more recourse when a dog attacks them or their dog. This would expand the current laws and give us a more clear plan of action to hold offending owners accountable. Here is the text of the law. We are running into a little trouble with the bill in committee because they feel like the existing dog law is sufficient. Let me be the first to assure you, it is not. I am going through the process of trying to get justice through the existing law and it is filled with pitfalls and loopholes As a result we hit a legal brick wall almost every day looking for a a way to criminally bring charges.

The good news is the bill does not have to go through committee! The session ends at the end of June and the speaker can bring any bill he chooses to the floor for a vote. WE NEED YOU! Please email the speaker of the New York Assembly,  Carl E. Heastie, and URGE him to bring Penny's Law (Bill #: A8462A) to the floor for a vote BEFORE the end of the session!
Here is his email, please FLOOD his inbox! Your voices matter! Do it for Penny!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone from all over the world who have sent love and healing well wishes to Penny. I believe it was all the positive energy coming her way that helped her bounce back so quickly. And going forward with your support of our petition, dogs will finally get the justice they all deserve <3
