Colorado Springs Utilities, a publicly owned utility company, has entered into a contract with a Las Vegas based broadband provider that has swollen to 300 times its original scope.  Without consulting their client base, as in all of us, CSU took a contract that was originally for less than $250,000 and expanded it to a 9 year $74,000,000 contract.  The same company that did the feasibility study is now contracted to do the work.  No hearings were held, no public notice was given.  This is an outrageous over reach by a utility company that needs to be held accountable by the public, not by its questionable CEO.  The purpose of this petition is to at minimum have Colorado Springs City Council hold public hearings about this contract.
