As determined by The University of Maine's July 20, 2023 Report "Spatial Analysis of Whiskey Fungus Testing for the Town of York," Wiggly Bridge Distillery's existing operation is responsible for significant spread of a heavy concentration of Baudoinia compniacensis ("Whiskey Fungus") which impacts hundreds of dwellings including private residences, businesses, and municipal buildings including York Middle School and VES.

This petition aims to encourage Harry Norton and the Code Enforcement staff to hold the distillery accountable by taking immediate action on the following:

➜  Citing Wiggly Bridge Distillery in violation of Town Ordinance 6.3.4

➜  Requiring Wiggly Bridge Distillery to relocate the existing barrelhouse to a location which cannot soil or stain homes and businsses

➜  Mandating that Wiggly Bridge Distillery mitigates their ethanol emissions such that their vapors no longer result in the presence of Baudoinia compniacensis beyond the property line of their business.

Town Ordinance 6.3.4
Emission of dust, dirt, fly ash, fumes, vapors, or gases which could damage human health, animals, vegetation, or property, or which could soil or stain persons or property, at any point beyond the lot line of the commercial or industrial establishment creating that emission shall be prohibited. All such activities shall also comply with applicable Federal and State regulations.
