The Issue

We care deeply about the success and stability of Sacramento, and would love to see opportunities for growth be awarded to those who are truly deserving. It's crucial that people in positions of power, especially in influential industries like the culinary scene, are held to a higher standard. Hard work is important, but so is character. As a community, we have the responsibility to ensure that our leaders live up to these standards.

Recently, there have been troubling allegations against Sacramento Chef Chris Barnum-Dann, concerning indiscretions and misconduct towards employees. These actions, if true, are unacceptable and stand against the values we hold dear in our community. Any form of workplace misconduct not only tarnishes the reputation of the business involved but also harms the trust and morale of its employees.

Furthermore, as Chef Barnum seeks to expand his business into East Sacramento and the Tower District, developers and investors should heavily reconsider their support. We must ensure that growth and development in Sacramento benefit everyone, creating an inclusive, respectful, and thriving community. Those investing in Sacramento's future should do so with the knowledge that they are supporting ethically responsible business practices.

By addressing these allegations head-on, we can work towards building a more equitable and respectful community. Chef Barnum should be investigated thoroughly, and the findings should be transparent to the public. It is time to hold leaders accountable and prioritize both character and competence in our local industry's future.

Your signature can help send a powerful message that we, as a community, will not tolerate misconduct and that we demand integrity from our leaders. Let’s ensure that Sacramento remains a place where opportunity is earned and respect is integral.

Please sign this petition to help advocate for change and accountability.
