Hold Amazon UK Accountable for Unfair Account Closures and Consumer Rights Violations

Hold Amazon UK Accountable for Unfair Account Closures and Consumer Rights Violations
The Issue
I am launching this petition to demand accountability from Amazon UK for unfair business practices that harm customers and small businesses.
After reporting a stolen parcel, which was clearly caught on CCTV surveillance, Amazon closed my business and personal accounts without notice. They refused to investigate, withheld refunds, blocked returns, and left me financially out of pocket.
Despite providing video evidence, a police report, and full cooperation, Amazon instead retaliated by terminating my access to open claims, digital content, and order history — effectively stripping away my basic consumer rights.
I am not alone.
Through research and direct conversations, it has become clear that hundreds of customers and sellers have suffered similar treatment:
Sudden account closures after raising complaints or reporting issues,
No refunds for missing items,
No access to order histories,
No fair right to defend themselves or appeal,
Funds withheld without explanation.
We demand that Amazon UK:
Cease retaliatory account closures against customers and sellers.
Properly investigate theft and fraud reports made by customers.
Immediately refund outstanding amounts where goods were not delivered.
Restore affected accounts or allow reasonable access to returns and records.
Improve transparency and provide proper, legal explanations for any closures.
We further demand that Trading Standards, the Financial Ombudsman, and the ICO closely examine Amazon’s practices towards UK consumers.
Amazon must respect consumer rights and be held accountable.
Sign this petition if you believe that no company, however big, is above the law.
Amazon allegedly tricked customers into paying for its subscription service, making it harder for them to cancel.
Now, the FTC (USA) is suing Amazon for scamming millions of consumers.
But Amazon's shady shenanigans don't end there as we can see.
