Due to a recent incident in Kerwin Hall on the morning of April 27th, many students feel unsafe to be taking in-person finals with suspicion of a planned school shooting or other mass violent act. Many students now feel as though their lives are in danger just by being on campus as the gap between now and finals week closes. I understand how important taking finals is for the student body at American University, but there needs to be a way to do so without sacrificing the mental health, and potentially physical health of all. The first step to keeping everyone safe is so hold finals remotely, so PLEASE take the time to sign this petition to urge the administration to make the right choice!
