Saw as a franchise has room to return bigger and better than ever. As we've seen with SAW X, there is still so much more potential in these characters that we've left behind and there's so much more opportunities and stories to be fulfilled. This is why I believe bringing Mark Hoffman back into the franchise could be a huge hit.

Saw IV-VI gave us a a good showcase of struggles, capabilities and growth for this villainous character and after the climax of Saw VI, I was beyond excited to see where Hoffman would go next and what he would do. I was let down by the 7th movie, however if there's anyone who can get out of that bathroom with brute force combined with tactical thinking, it's Hoffman.

With the reintroduction of his character we could also see a resolution for other storylines or characters which were never fully explained or finished, or we could even see the development of an entirely new storyline and direction for Hoffman. Potentially this time around he could be less of an antagonist and more a protagonist, while still being villainous. This is how I felt about Hoffman in the movies already anyway.

He was a very capable successor to John Kramer, and yet I'd like to see more expansion around the dynamics of competition between Hoffman and Amanda Young as Jigsaw's true apprentice and successor.
