Hoboken Scooter Traffic Enforcement

Hoboken Scooter Traffic Enforcement

The Issue

The motorized scooters in Hoboken have caused several traffic and pedestrian accidents involving parents and small children.   Yesterday, a mother and baby were hit while walking on the sidewalk in northwest Hoboken. The scooter traffic needs to be enforced and should abide by standard traffic laws.  Those driving scooters, should be capable and trained drivers.   In addition, if traffic laws are not abided by, there should be enforcement with serious consequences.  Each rider should need to display an ID number when riding, so if needed, they can be reported and identified.  Helmets should be required and public walkways and streets should not be obstructed by parked scooters.
