In today’s society, drug dealers and people who are sentenced for similar/ drug related charges are receiving sentences that are an unrealistic period of time (stated below)

1. Class C and temporary class drugs- minimum 2 years, maximum 14 years
2. Class B- minimum 5 years, maximum 14 years
3. Class A drugs- minimum 7 years, maximum life 

Not to mention offenders can also receive a fine alongside the sentence which is an unlimited fine. 

Also in today’s society there has been way too many cases where sex offenders are receiving shorter sentences than drug repeated offenders or in worst cases, no sentence at all. Below is an insight of sex offender sentences that prove that the court system isn’t a realistic system and is basically along the lines of corruption

Sentencing for sexual offenders range from a minimum of 3 months and maximum of life depending on the offence. For an offender to receive a life sentence is based upon the following factors as well as many others:

1. how vulnerable the victim is after the offence committed
2.  How well planned the crime is 
3. The impact that it had on the victim(s)

The purpose of this petition is to get the government, Her Majesty’s Prison services as well as the court system to re-evaluate the sentencing for drug dealers and sex offenders. 
In order to make this happen, it has to be taken into the hands of the public to speak up to make a change in the prison system and to get more sexual offenders off the streets, out of the community and away in jail for a longer sentence in order for them to realise what they have done, the affect that their actions have had on people and the community but most importantly to get them off the streets in order to stop them harming more innocent people.
