with no thought for his own safety Folajimi Olubunmi-Adewole entered the River Thames on 24th April in an attempt to save a lady who had fallen of London Bridge. The George Cross is awarded to civilians who show exceptional courage when   facing great risk whilst attempting to protect or save the lives of others.

by any definition Folajimi Olubunmi-Adewole is deserving of receiving an award of  this highest  civilian medal for bravery.
