To Protect Dublin’s Croppie’s Acre Memorial Park from a proposed Playground Development

The Issue

The 1798 Memorial Garden, The Croppie’s Acre, is under aesthetic and physical threat with a proposal entered into Dublin City Council on Tuesday, May 12th 2020, for the construction of a children’s playground. This was proposed by Fine Gael Councillor Ray McAdam. This is a memorial park for a reason. It is reputedly the burial ground for hundreds of 1798 Rebellion victims. It was dedicated in 1998 by An Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, to commemorate those hundreds who died or were executed in Dublin during the 1798 Rebellion. We cannot have another Moore Street fiasco.
