Keep the Houston ISD Outdoor Education Centers Open

Keep the Houston ISD Outdoor Education Centers Open
The Issue
Dear Friends of the Outdoor Education Centers,
By now, you may have heard that there has been an official recommendation to the board to remove all funding from the 5th Grade Outdoor Education Programs. If you have been to either Forest Glen or Olympia, you have witnessed many reasons to continue such a program.
Houston had the foresight nearly 40 years ago to create a program that has provided safe and supervised out-of-doors experiences to urban students. Over the years we have helped generations of students connect across cultures, connect with nature, and connect with content via hands-on learning. Where will we take our students in the future that will be as meaningful? Please consider signing & sharing this petition with your peers to keep the Houston ISD Outdoor Education Centers Open.
