The Issue

We, like many others, have felt the sting of being left in uncertainty by ghost job postings, recruiters or being overlooked by ATS AI software while struggling to secure a position within your area of expertise. Human Resource users on TikTok ensures, a large demographic of the job market today, validated these experiences, reinforcing the claim that the job market is not fair for skilled employees seeking to change careers or those critically in need of employment. Furthermore, HR Departments TikTok users are claiming corporations received tax payments if the corporation is under-staff and actively posting for the position vacancy, hence GHOST JOBS POSTINGS.

At a time when corporate profits are at a record high, employers' mispractices are becoming more palpable than ever. Applicants experience tremendous losses - in terms of time, effort and opportunities - due to the continuation of such practices. Employers should be held liable for the strain placed upon hopeful applicants and face reinforced accountability.

It's time to see changes - an end to ghost job postings tax breaks, third-parties hopeful misguidance, and reassessment of ATS AI hiring software usage and a fairer job market for skilled employees. Especially, now during a time we are seeing the elimination of Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) policies in today's job market.

We push for the elimination of corporate tax breaks and push for penalties to be imposed on employers who re-post without fulfilling vacancies, and leave applicants in the unknown without a professional response. Employers should pay cap amount of damages to applicants incurred to job seekers, not be rewarded with tax dollars from the government. A job search should not feel like a futile scramble or a face-off against an AI that doesn't understand us. We, as a society, should not be dependent on third-parties or forced to sensationalize our credentials through marketing hiring agencies. We're working trained professionals who deserve respect.

If continue to be unchecked and unregulated, the unemployment rate would continue to increase; which cities and states are starting to see an economic impact. Furthermore, future generations entering the job market will struggle when reached adulthood readiness as a majority of the labor market will be overseen as vacant. Employers will continue to profit from the populous unemployment, while us citizens continuously mitigate a failing welfare system for basic human survival needs. Are we as a society ready to lead the current state and the future generation for a labor market failure?

Join us in bringing about these vital changes. Sign and share this petition to take a stand against the neglect and automation infiltrating our hope for employment and a fairer future.
