We are representing the student government of Seattle Pacific University. For the last 2 years, our campus community has been fighting to change homophobic policies at our Christian university. A large majority of our campus wants these policies changed. This week, the Board of Trustees will put the policies to a vote. We are asking for support in demonstrating how important this issue is to our campus, and to others around the country and world. 

An LGBTQ+ Task Force has made a formal recommendation to the Board of Trustees that SPU change their employee lifestyle expectations to no longer prohibit same-sex relationships. This would allow SPU to hire LGBTQ+ professors and staff and protect the LGBTQ+ professors and staff we have currently. While this is not the end of the fight at SPU, it would be a huge step forward. 

This vote is happening this week. The only thing we can think to do now is to just show the Board of Trustees how much support there is to change these policies. So please consider supporting us!

Changing this policy would be a big step for our little university, and it would be a big step for Christian universities everywhere.
