Ms. Reed, former first grade teacher at Gary Road Elementary, was recently forced to resign due to the actions of one student in her classroom. The student has known behavioral problems and was disrupting the class.  Ms. Reed went to intervene and the child threw herself to the floor.  The child then went home and told her parent that Ms. Reed caused her to fall.  Ms. Reed's superiors interviewed the students in her class—without parents’ consent—and then failed to listen to the children who stated that the incident in question was not—in any way—the fault of Ms. Reed. Because of the actions of one student, Ms. Reed’s class is now forced to have their learning disrupted as they adjust to a new teacher. We are demanding that Ms. Reed be reinstated so that the children in her classroom may continue to reap the benefits of her teaching.
