As Menstrual Hygiene Day comes to an end, I am happy to share that with your support, Dignity in Floods has been receiving significant recognition in the past few months. Each of your signatures strengthened my resolve to fight for this cause. Two happy updates: 

• We got featured in some major media portals such as The Better India, The Logical Indian and YourStory.
• Last week, I was invited by Goonj to speak about my campaign at ‘Menstruation Dialogue; Missing Voices, Missed Out Issues’  in New Delhi. I spoke about the problems; experiences of women and possible solutions. Such national platforms help us raise awareness about my cause and also help us find potential allies.     

After the devastating Cyclone Fani in Odisha, I learnt that there was a demand for menstrual hygiene products in the most affected areas. Periods don’t wait for disasters to end. That is why women-friendly flood shelters are important!  Assam government must build women-friendly flood shelters.
