A Happy Women’s Day!

I have some news. We got a response from the Assam Government! You might have received an update about it. In case you missed it, you may read it here.

Mr Bhabesh Kalita, Minister of State, Department of Disaster Management, Govt of Assam said : "I have read the petition thoroughly. It's a serious issue." 

I thank Mr Bhabesh Kalita for being such a responsive minister. I have sought an appointment with him and I waiting for a reply from his office. 

This acknowledgement shows that he cares about the cause of women-friendly flood shelters in Assam. Of course, it doesn’t mean they will be built right away, so I request you to keep on sharing my petition to reach more people. Let's show that we care enough to make this happen. 

And...Media is noticing us! We got covered by none other than The Hindu who found this an important issue to be highlighted in this article. Guwahati Plus,one of the top media outlets in Assam covered my petition and the minister’s response this week here in this link. I thank the journalists who took the time to write about my campaign. 

This has been an exciting week! My belief is becoming stronger that together we can make this a reality! I couldn’t have done this without your support.
