Respected Sir,
We,the parents of students studying in Don Bosco School, Panbazar, Guwahati, would like to bring to your notice about the issue faced by us with regard to offline exams. One of the teachers of the school and a family member of another teacher have been tested positive and because of that the school campus has been declared a containment zone for 7 days. This was put to light by many media outlets. Just when the Covid cases have reduced an outbreak like this has caused tension in our minds because many students might also have got affected by coming in contact with the teachers. As a result we as concerned parents are not willing to send our wards to give the exams in offline mode.
In regard to the present situation many other schools have opted for the online mode of examination and we believe our school should too. Keeping in mind the hard work done by the govt and frontline workers to reduce the cases, this mistake might be costly to the former.
Some people are accusing that students want the online mode as they haven't studied. But the point is that the outbreak has been sudden and prior to this it was sure that offline exams would be conducted and many of us had submitted our practical which included some marks for the final assessments. It truly disregards the hard work of students through the entire pandemic , fighting hard to cope up with studies.
Hence we would like to request you sir to please contact the school authorities for providing an option for online exams and a new routine for the same. We hope you look into the matter and take the necessary step for this problem.
Thank You
