Help us get Tricia Moyer-Mentzer back as a dog manager at the Hillside SPCA!
The Issue
Tricia Moyer-Mentzer has worked at the Hillside SPCA for 24 years of her life. On June 15, 2021 the board of directors fired her. Hillside SPCA is her entire life. She started working at the shelter when she was 16 years old and she has true dedication to this shelter. She is an extremely hard worker. Every single day she takes a group of dogs off leash on our mountain and they all follow her.
She has saved hundreds of lives. She often pulls dogs from other shelters when we have the space. About 90% of the dogs we have currently at the shelter would be dead if it wasn't for her. She will get up at any hour of the night to help an animal in need, even if it means she doesn't get sleep that night. Not many people would do that. She is the most selfless person that I know. This decision was completely unrighteous.
This is a tremendous loss to our shelter and other shelters that we help. Before Barbara Umlauf passed away she expressed how she wanted Tricia to take care of the Hillside SPCA. Tricia took pride in this shelter and kept her promises to Barbara.
Every single dog at this shelter looks for Tricia when she is not here. The look in these dogs faces when they realize that she is not coming is absolutely devastating. If Tricia has impacted your life in any way, please feel free to support her.
