Hillsborough county has continued to delay all practice for youth football while they try to figure out how they can get rich off of the community nonprofit organizations. It has been one thing after another for the last 2 years. Here are the stipulations the county has given;

1.Teams can only practice 2 times a week.  This is a season where they play all teams from other counties & states who have been practicing since January 2022,  3 to 4 times a week and they don’t have to pay for practice on their own fields. What will kids learn 2x a week for only 2 hours?? This is ridiculous and what a disadvantage to the children who want to work on their skills to be successful and not to MENTION SAFETY. These are not preschool games, these are real games with contact and play calls, children cant gain the skills needed with 2 hrs 2x a week! 

2. The NON- PROFIT organization must pay $30 an hour to use the filed they have been given under the county to run the counties youth athletics. This must be paid up front. So Hillsborough county is going to profit over $5,000 from nonprofit youth sports just to practice!!!! The county doesn’t give any money to the programs to help fund the equipment, upkeep the facility, stock the concessions etc. BUT WE MUST NOW PAY THEM USE THE FIELD!

The excuse from the county - "football is not a year around sport" ..NOW AFTER THESE ORGANIZATIONS HAVE BEEN RUNNING UP TO 50 YEARS ! NOW ITS A PROBLEM! FOOTBALL is year around! Highschool practices and trains all year...NFL practices and trains year round. Youth football leauges have ALWAYS practiced/ played all year!

Most organizations have dropped out of the spring ball, the county is LITERALLY going to be the cause that these organizations have to shut down! We are talking about nonprofit community programs for the kids to learn, grow, be mentored, learn respect, teamwork, dedication and stay off the streets! 

Why does it seem like the county just keeps trying to find ways to fill their pockets and create more barriers for the little guys and non profits!  I wonder what county represenative will VOLUNTEER their time to run these organizations when they run everyone out!  

IF you have kids or care about our young generation staying busy and proactive and off the streets share and SIGN THIS! Let's HELP these kids get on that field and play ball WITHOUT the county officials getting bonus off our backs!! Hopefully the more voices heard will help CREATE CHANGE!
