Hillsborough County School Board member Jessica Vaughn would like to change the Indian mascot of East Bay High School.  She feels the Indian no longer represents the community. A community she doesn't even represent.   Since 1957 an Indian has been the proud mascot for East Bay and has always been a symbol of pride for the students, alumni, and community at large.  In fact it has been a great educational opportunity to talk about indigenous people and their history.  With a cash strapped school system, no matter what your position on our community mascot; should we be spending money to change this great symbol of East Bay? 

August 24th at 4PM we expect this issue to come before the school board, let your voice be heard b signing this petition or please email the HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD TO LEAVE OUR MASCOT ALONE!
