Stop The Sexism Of Dress Code in Hillsborough County Public Schools

The Issue

In high schools across the county such as HB Plant High School there are controversial dress code policies that require female students to wear shorts at least at fingertip length and that does not allow them to expose their shoulders. In a recent assembly at HB Plant High School, administrators only told the male students to not wear sagging pants and told female students to not wear what they call "short shorts, mini dresses, skirts, and tank tops." As a student at Plant, which is a high performing school in the area, believe that what the administration calls "inappropriate clothing" does not inhibit students from having high GPA's or getting passing grades on AP Exams. We the students demand for a more reasonable dress code that allows for students to be comfortable but does bot distract from the learning environment.
