let the Humane Society of Tampa Bay retain custody of Bart

let the Humane Society of Tampa Bay retain custody of Bart
The Issue
Petition to have humane society of Tampa bay take custody of Bart the cat.
Bart was buried alive by his owner and a neighbor when the owner presumed him dead after being hit by car. Unfortunately for Bart, he was not dead. Five days later, he appeared on the doorstep of another neighbor's house. They took Bart, put him in a crate and the next morning took videos of him, which are posted all over the Internet. At some point they did decide to get him medical help. The owner checked with area veterinary clinics but could not afford their fees. He then brought Bart to the Animal Health Center at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. He turned Bart over to them for care and Bart is being treated at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay for a broken jaw, open facial wounds and a ruined eye which had to be removed. During this time the neighbor and owner set up a gofundme account for Bart's medical expenses. That account has grown significantly, $6685. Not one penny from that account has gone to help the Humane Society of Tampa Bay with Bart's care. the Humane Society is using their own funds and donations for Bart. Now the owner is suing for custody of Bart, the gofundme page has changed and they have added legal fees on it as well. Those funds should be going to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, who are the true caregivers of Bart. The owner turned Bart over to their care, now that there is a significant amount of money in the gofundme account, they want him back. We feel that in Bart's best interest, he should remain at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.
Please do not let Bart go back to his previous owner. Please sign this petition to make sure Bart has a chance at a real life and that the Humane Society of Tampa Bay has custody, this will make sure Bart continues to get the care that he needs. thank you
